This Privacy Policy provides you (hereinafter referred to as “User”) with information about the nature, scope, and purpose of the collection and use of data shared with or collected by Lift Holdings from the User. User means any person that downloads and/or register with Lifttaxi as a Passenger or a Driver to obtain the Service provided by Lifttaxi. Service means the services facilitated by Lifttaxi website or mobile application through which Passengers can access and order taxi services/order services of transportation of goods /delivery of parcels as provided by Drivers at various locations.

Lift Holdings will collect and process the User’s data to provide and improve the Service and the User hereby agrees for the collection and use of such data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy, terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in the Lift Holdings Terms and Conditions.

Lift Holdings will collect different types of data as hereinafter provided for various purposes to provide and improve its Service to the User.

Information Collection And Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you.

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

All personal data (title, name, address, e-mail address and telephone numbers, profile pictures and other personal information the User chooses to provide) submitted by User is collected, stored, and processed exclusively in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations concerning data protection.

Usage Data

Lift Holdings may collect User’s browser information whenever the User visits www.lifttaxi.lk to obtain the Service or when the User access the Service by or through a mobile device by using the Lifttaxi-App (“Usage Data”).

This Usage Data may include data such as the User’s computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, app features or pages of the Service that the User visits, the time and date of visit, the time spent on those pages, app crashers and other system activity, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data on how the User interact with the Service, preferences expressed and settings chosen by the User, third party sites or similar services used by the User. Lift Holdings may collect this data through the use of cookies, pixel tags or other similar identifiers.

When the User access the Service by or through a mobile device, this Usage Data may include data such as the type of User’s mobile device (hardware model), mobile device unique ID, the IP address of the mobile device, mobile operating system and the version, the type of mobile Internet browser, unique device identifiers, advertising identifiers, serial numbers, device motion information and other diagnostic data.

Transaction Data

Lift Holdings will collect transaction data of the User in relation to use of the Service such as the type of service requested (ex. type of vehicle), date and time the service is requested, distance travelled, amount of the fare, details of offers and features of Lifttaxi used by the User and other related transaction details.

Lift Holdings will also collect call data which includes date and time of the call or text message, contents of the text message and the phone numbers in order to facilitate communication between Passengers and Drivers.

Location Data

Lift Holdings will use and store data about the User’s location where the User has allowed to do so in order to facilitate the Service. Lift Holdings will collect the precise location data of the User by allowing Lifttaxi to access the location of the device through the permission system of the mobile operating system or through the IP address of the User. User may later disable the permission allowing location data by changing the location settings on the User’s mobile device. However, disabling permission of location data will limit certain facilities provided by the Lifttaxi Service.

Tracking & Cookies Data

Lifttaxi use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity of the User on the Service and hold certain information. Cookies are files with small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to the User’s browser from a website and stored on the User’s device. Tracking technologies used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze the Service.

Lifttaxi will use traffic log cookies to enable identification of use of the site or pages by the User in order to analyze data about webpage traffic and to improve the Service for the User and such cookies will not in any way give access to the devices of the User or to any data of the User other than to those User has consented to share.

User can instruct the User’s browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if the User does not accept cookies, User may not be able to use certain features of the Service.

• Preference Cookies. We use Preference Cookies to remember your preferences and various settings.
• Security Cookies. We use Security Cookies for security purposes.

Contacts Data

If the User allows Lifttaxi to use the contacts list of the User in the mobile device, Lift Holdings may use it to access and collect data of the User’s contacts to facilitate social interactions or for other purposes such as marketing and advertising. Lifttaxi will seek permission for the collection and syncing of such contact data from the User’s device in accordance with the permission system of the User’s mobile operating system and the User may disable such permission as allowed by the mobile operating system of the User.

Permissions

The system seeking permissions to share, collect or access User’s data will depend on the User’s mobile platform of the device. Lifttaxi may however request further permissions to enable additional features of the Service.

Data collected from other sources

Lift Holdings may also collect User’s data from other sources and together with the data collected by Lift Holdings may be used to facilitate the Service. For example, through a payment provider or any social media service through which the User connects to Lifttaxi, or if the User uses any other app or website that uses the same API as Lifttaxi.

Lift Holdings may also receive User’s data from the User’s employer in the event the employer is registered with Lifttaxi to obtain corporate solutions provided.

Use of Data

Lift Holdings will use the collected data for various purposes including but not limited to providing, improving and maintaining the Service, to perform internal operations, to facilitate communication between Passengers and Drivers, for notifying User of any changes to the Service, for allowing the User to participate in interactive features of the Service if and when the User chooses to do so, to provide customer support, to gather analysis or valuable information for the improvement of the Service, to monitor the usage of the Service, to detect, prevent and address technical issues.

Deletion/correction or amendment of Data

User may edit or correct data entered or submitted to Lifttaxi or may also delete the account created with Lifttaxi through the relevant options available on the Website/App. However, some data may be retained by Lift Holdings for purposes described below even subsequent to deletion of the User’s account.

Retention of Data

Lift Holdings may retain User’s data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. Lift Holdings may retain User’s data to the extent necessary to comply with any legal obligations (for example, if Lift Holdings is required to retain data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce legal agreements and policies.

Lift Holdings will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of the Service, or where Lift Holdings is legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

Transfer Of Data

Lift Holdings may transfer data collected from the User as described by this Privacy Policy for purposes of processing and storage to other countries where they may have less protective data protection laws. However Lift Holdings will take all appropriate measures to protect User’s data transferred in accordance with this Privacy Policy..

Sharing and Disclosure of Data

Lift Holdings may share data collected from the User as described by this Privacy Policy strictly on confidential terms with third parties to facilitate various features of the Service (for example, with other passengers to facilitate the ‘ride sharing’ feature of the Service) and also with the general public where the User submit content in a public forum such as by blog comments, social media posts or through other features of the Service that is viewable by the general public.

User’s data may be further shared with Lift Holdings subsidiaries and other affiliated bodies that provide services on behalf of Lift Holdings, with vendors, consultants, marketing partners and other service providers to provide the services requested by the User.

Lift Holdings may disclose User’s data in good faith where it is necessary to comply with a legal obligation; to protect and defend the rights or property of Lift Holdings; to prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service; to protect the personal safety of User of the Service or the public or to protect against legal liability.

In the event Lift Holdings is merged or acquired by another entity or in the event of re-organization and/or restructuring of the business, User’s data will be shared with the affiliates wholly or in part.

Legal Requirements

Lift may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

Service Providers

Lift Holdings may employ third party companies and/or individuals to facilitate the Service, to perform Service related services. These third parties may have access to User’s data only to perform the relevant tasks on behalf of Lift Holdings and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Promotions, Marketing and Advertising

Lift Holdings may use third-party Service Providers to show advertisements to User to help support and maintain the Service. Lift Holdings may also use contact data such as e-mail addresses, residential address, and telephone numbers shared with Lifttaxi by User to communicate promotional schemes or product offers.

Payments

Lift Holdings will not store or collect payment card details of Users. Such information will be directly dealt by the third-party payment processors and the use of such personal information will be governed by the Privacy Policy of such third parties. Lift Holdings assumes no responsibility to the data in respect of credit/debit card payments.

Analytics

Lift Holdings may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of the Service. These service providers may use cookies, web beacons, SDKs and other technologies to identify the User’s device when the User visits Lifttaxi site or app and use the Service as described above.

• Google Analytics

  Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

  You can opt-out of having made your activity on the Service available to Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. The add-on prevents the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js, analytics.js, and dc.js) from sharing information with Google Analytics about visits activity.

The User is deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy by using this Service offered by Lift Holdings.

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 ("Children").

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

Lift Holdings reserves the right to modify the terms of this Privacy Policy from time to time to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Lift Holdings will notify User of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. Lift Holdings will inform User via email and/or a prominent notice on the Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the “effective date” at the top of this Privacy Policy. The terms updated will be effective immediately and shall supersede these terms of the Privacy Policy. User is advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
